| Position: |
No position found to the question "What are the solutions to the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict?" |
| Reasoning: |
"Central to the Muslim experience is the creation of Israel. On the One hand, it was painful to watch the determined implementation of this 'foreign' body in the heart of the Arab world, and on the detriment of the majority of the people who inhabited that land, i.e., Muslim and Christian Palestinians... On the other hand, it was felt that if the Israelis could succeed because of their ardent adherence to their religion, Muslims would be all the more victorious and aggresssive if they were to adhere to their religion. If religion is indeed to become the paramount political force in the Arab world, more tormenting conflicts can be expected, both within individual countries, and throughout the region as a whole."
"The Politics of Militant Islamic Movements in the Middle East" Journal of International Affairs, Fall82/Winter83
