Israeli and Palestinian Deaths, 1987-2007

A chart of the estimated number of casualties resulting from the Israeli - Palestinian conflict during the First and Second Intifadas, including the intermediate "Oslo Process" period, is offered below. We collected data from 1987, the start of the First Intifada, through 2007 as the Second Intifada continues, because of the social and political impact both Intifadas had on the last thirty years of conflict.

We have organized the mortality data by Palestinian deaths and Israeli deaths according to a variety of sources. Most sources combine combatant, military personnel, and civilian deaths. We offer a link to the full text of each mortatlity report where methodology details can be found. Deaths from international military operations between Israel and its neighbor countries are not included in this presentation.
